While it’s great to go back to work after the holidays, it’s also really hard. Suddenly we’re hit with a huge wave of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) and work is one of the last places you want to be. Even if you love your job.
Here are ways you can ditch your post-holiday blues and make the most out of coming back to work.
1. Edge back into work slowly.
We’ve all been on holidays and turning our brain back on will take some time. Get everyone together for a casual breakfast, get all of the holidays talk out of the way and just catch up. It’ll increase productivity as it’ll give them a chance to get back into the swing of things.
2. Buy some new clothes.
Research shows that those that “Dress to Impress” feel more productive throughout the day. Deck yourself out in your finest clothes and get working.
3. Clean out your PC.
If your waiting 10 minutes for your computer to respond, we have a problem, and what better time of the year to sort it out than now! Plus, this means you can deal with the issue before you start anything new for the year. Plus you get that extra 15 minutes to yourself while IT sorts it out.
4. Plan something big.
Is it a new holiday? A new promotion? Make 2018 count and plan something big. Be realistic about your goals for 2018 and make sure you know what you want. Stop hiding behind your “One day, Someday” phrases and make them today.
